Course Information

Prior to your session, your facilitator(s) will contact you via email and/or a calendar invite and may provide course materials at that time for preparation. After the session, you will receive a course evaluation via email, and your facilitator(s) may provide additional resources to support your learning journey.

Participation Formats

Whether in-person or virtual sessions, you can expect to participate in the following ways:

  • Individual reflections.
  • Small-group discussions.
  • Large-group discussions.
  • Workplace scenario applications.

Our Virtual Learning Spaces

Our virtual learning sessions are hosted through Zoom. We do not record sessions and do not allow participants to record sessions. To have the best experience possible, we strongly recommend that you:

  • Use a computer device (not a phone or tablet).
  • Reserve a private, quiet location where you and other participants can speak freely. An alternative would be to wear headphones for privacy.
  • Have your camera on as much as possible.
  • Participate in small and large group discussions using a microphone.
  • Review UW–Madison’s Zoom KB best practices. Be familiar with Zoom’s annotation and chat features and make any necessary updates to your Zoom account before the course.
  • Test out your technology before your course.

Our Campus Learning Spaces

We offer learning sessions at numerous locations across campus. Please confirm your session’s address and room number before your course date. Our campus offers:

  • Gender-divided restrooms are offered in all campus buildings.
  • Gender-inclusive restrooms can be found in nearby campus buildings.
  • Accessible building entrances are available across campus.
  • Wellness Rooms are private, individual spaces that can be used for lactation, prayer, meditation, and many other personal needs.
  • Water fountains, limited vending, refrigerators, and microwaves are available in buildings as participants are not offered food and drink.

Transportation

Please note that transportation costs are not reimbursed and parking options are limited on campus. Transportation Services has numerous options, including individualized consultations. Here are some resources about transportation in and around campus:
