“Navigating Change with Thankful Leadership”

Jason M. Fields, CEcD, CFEI, CCRS

Jason Fields, MSL, CEcD, CFEI, CCRS, a distinguished leader in economic development and finance, joined the Madison Region Economic Partnership (MadREP) in January 2021, where he currently serves as President and CEO. In September 2022, Jason earned the prestigious Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) designation from the International Economic Development Council, underscoring his expertise and commitment to advancing economic growth.

Before his tenure at MadREP, Jason was a dedicated Wisconsin State Legislator, representing the 11th Assembly District from 2004 to 2012 and again from 2016 to 2021. During his legislative career, he managed significant policy initiatives, including 5G legislation and various economic and workforce development policies, and served on the Department of Financial Institutions Committee. His legislative work was marked by successful collaboration across party lines and the implementation of key financial and economic policies.

Jason is a prominent figure on the global stage as a Senator for the United States at the World Business Angel Investment Forum (WBAF).

Jason’s career in the financial services sector is marked by the collaborative management of over $100 million in assets, encompassing bonds, equities, derivatives, insurance, and various loan types. His extensive experience includes roles as a financial advisor, investment advisor, personal banker, credit union branch manager, and investment banking associate.

An accomplished author, Jason has published six books, four of which provide foundational knowledge on financial topics. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from Cardinal Stritch University and a master’s degree in leadership from Concordia University. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Leadership in Innovation and Continuous Improvement at Concordia University of Wisconsin.

Jason is a Certified Financial Education Instructor (CFEI) and a Certified Capital Raising Specialist (CCRS). His leadership extends to numerous boards, including Destination Madison, Wisconsin Technology Council, MKE Tech, Competitive Wisconsin, the Green Bay Packer Mentor Protégé Program, and the Convergence Resource Center. He is an active member of the Rotary Club of Downtown Madison and serves on the Governor’s Financial Literacy Council. He also serves as president of the Regional Leadership Council.

In recognition of his contributions, Jason has received numerous awards, including the 2024 “Power 100” from In Business Magazine, the 2022 Business Times accolade as one of Wisconsin’s 275 most influential people, and the 2016 Legislator of the Year award.

Jason currently resides in Verona, Wisconsin, with his wife, La Tasha Fields.
