Apply for a Blue Collar Multi-Shift Transfer

Blue Collar Multi-Shift transfers (BCMS) are only for current, permanent UW-Madison employees.

To be eligible for a Blue-Collar Multi-Shift Transfer, you must meet the following:

  • Currently employed in the same title within your division
  • No disciplinary letter(s) received within the last 12 months
  • Have not transferred via the BCMS process within the last six months
  • Not currently on probation
  • Meet all required qualifications for the BCMS transfer position

The deadline to apply is seven (7) calendar days from the posting date.

The BCMS form must be submitted with your online application or in person to be considered for a blue collar multi-shift transfer within your division.

Step 1

From your Workday home page, click on the Menu.

Click on 'Jobs Hub' under the 'Organization' tab.

Alternatively, you can click the magnifying glass icon to browse all open positions.

Step 3 To find open Blue Collar Multi-Shift transfer opportunities, type BCMS into the search bar, then hit the Enter button.
Step 4

A list of open BCMS positions will appear. Each position will have the following information in the position title: Title, Unit, Shift. 

To learn more about the transfer opportunity, click the Job Posting Title.

Step 5

Click 'Apply' to start the application process.

If your email or phone number is listed as 'public' in your Worker Profile, it will display under 'Contact Information' at the top of the page. If you need to change your contact information, you can do so in your Worker Profile.

    Step 6

    Upload your completed BCMS form in place of a resume.

      BCMS Transfer forms can be found in the following languages at https://jobs.wisc.edu/bcms:

      • English
      • Español / Spanish
      • Hmoob / Hmong
      • བོད་ཡིག / Tibetan
      • 中文 / Chinese
      • नेपाली / Nepali
      Step 7

      Before submitting your application, review the information entered. When ready, click the 'Submit' button.

      You will receive confirmation of a successful application via email and a pop-up message.

      You will also receive a notification message that can be accessed from the bell icon.

      On the 'My Applications' tab, you can view the application, the application status, or withdraw from consideration.

      Apply for a BCMS transfer in-person
      Step 1 Request a paper BCMS Transfer form from your division's Human Resources (HR) office or print the form from the BCMS website: https://jobs.wisc.edu/bcms 
      Step 2 Submit the completed form to your division's Human Resources office.
