Preparing for Payroll in Workday

This guide provides information on how to prepare for payroll in Workday, and how you can help your managers/supervisors do the same. 

   

Payroll Validation Dashboard

Review the Payroll Validation Dashboard
Security Roles: Payroll Partner, Payroll Analyst (UW) Supervisory, and Payroll Lite (view access only to the dashboard) 
Description: A central location to monitor payroll results for accuracy, access key reports, resources, and review payroll impacts in real time. 
When to look at reports: Go to the Payroll Validation Dashboard on Friday of the non-payroll week and Monday through Wednesday of the payroll week.

Description:

Review Preparing for Payroll -Time and Absence Reports for Coordinators  

This KB outlines Time and Absence reports to run throughout the biweekly payroll process to monitoring employee time and time off. The reports are categorized by frequency: daily, weekly, during payroll processing, and post payroll complete. Additionally, guidance on ad hoc reports is provided. This serves as a general guide to available payroll reports; coordinators are encouraged to customize their reporting process based on their School/College/Division's specific needs. 

Important: Workday time and time off totals and reports update in real time. Time clock and payroll data refresh approximately every 5 minutes.

Description:

Review Preparing for Payroll -Time and Absence Reports - Manager

This KB provides a general guideline on a recommended schedule (daily, weekly, bi-weekly) and reports that manager/supervisors can utilize to establish their time and time off routine. It's important to note that not all listed reports or schedules will be applicable to every employee population. Managers/supervisors are encouraged to customize their time and time off report routine based on their employee population and needs. 

Manager/supervisors will run most reports out of the Time and Scheduling Hub and the Time and Absence Dashboard.
