Overview
The Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB) is a tool that allows users to quickly load and retrieve large amounts of data into or from Workday using a mass upload EIB Template. An EIB Template is a spreadsheet that reflects the data requirements more easily by showing required and optional Workday data along with the column labels.
 EIB Best Practice:
- There are specific processing instruction job aids available in the EIB library that identify the required data fields for each EIB
- Mass upload EIB Template is submitted via a “GetHelp” ticket and processed by UWSS
- Multiple EIB templates can be loaded on the same ticket if the requests are related
- UWSS requires EIB template receipt a minimum of one week prior to the desired effective date
- Mass uploads may be used for 20 or more transactions. Manual entry should be completed if there are fewer than 20 transactions
- Note: The request compensation load will not generate any letters or employee notifications in Workday
- Manual letters will be required and can then be loaded to an employee’s personnel file
- CCoE approval must be obtained prior to EIB submission for transactions that would normally require CCoE review including all compensation changes (except for performance), and Job Changes and Period Activity Pay requiring Ad Hoc Approval
WARNING:Â It is important not to update the formatting of an EIB template to maintain the correct structure, data mapping, and validation necessary for accurate and efficient data imports.
Other HR EIB subjects available in the EIB Library include: Academics, Benefits, Core HR, Time and Absence
