This guide explains how employees can view their assigned work schedules and request changes within Workday.
Why Your Schedule in Workday Matters
While your work schedule in Workday helps manage your time, it is important to understand a few key points about how it works:
- Your work schedule can be set up or customized at any time using the “Assign Custom Work Schedule” task in Workday. If you have questions about your schedule, please discuss those expectations with your supervisor or local HR.
- While Workday technology platform has an assigned schedule, it does not replace or change any current policies.
-
Your schedule will not automatically pay you or fill out your timesheet. However, some non-exempt employees might have the option to easily auto-fill their timesheet each week based on their work schedule.
-
When you request time off, Workday technology system will automatically suggest the correct number of hours based on your work schedule. This also means you can easily request time off for longer periods, including days you are not scheduled to work because those days will show as zero hours.
-
For exempt (salaried) full-time employees, Workday uses your scheduled hours to ensure your full day or half day time off are requests are accurate. For example, if you work 10-hour days, you can request time off in 5 or 10-hour blocks. If you work 8-hour days, you will request 4 or 8-hour blocks.
- Non-exempt (hourly) or less than full time employees, can report time off in 15-minute increments.
