Overview
This job aid overviews the Onboarding setup and progress tracking available in Workday. This document will review the 3 sections of the Onboarding Dashboard that can be personalized for a new employee: the Message from My Manager, People to Meet, and Helpful Contacts for a new hire. Additionally, this document will review the process to run the Onboarding Status Summary Report (OSR).
Onboarding Setup
After a new employee is hired into Workday, the business process automatically starts the Onboarding Setup process by sending a task to the initiator of the new hire.
Important: If the Onboarding Setup process has not been completed 3 days prior to the date of hire, Workday will submit the Setup with default settings to ensure that Onboarding launches to the new hire.
Step 1 | From the Workday Home Page, click on My Tasks (inbox icon) in the upper right corner |
---|---|
Step 2 | Select the Onboarding Setup for Hire: New Employee’s Name task |
Step 3 | Review the generated default Message and edit or add any personal details. See the Suggested Templates below. |
Step 4 |
Confirm/Add/Delete
|
Step 5 |
Optional: Click the Notify checkbox if you want selected contacts to receive a message that they have been identified. Review Notification Subject and Message, and make any edits needed. |
Step 6 |
Click Submit. The new hire will have access to the onboarding dashboard and will receive their onboarding tasks to complete. Note: Click Save for Later if you would like to save your current progress before exiting the task. |
