Workday security determines the access that UW-Madison employees have to HR information and processes within UW’s Workday Human Resource Management (HRM) system, expected to launch July 2025 as part of UW’s Administrative Transformation Project (ATP).
Leading up to the launch of Workday, this page will serve as a UW-Madison resource for HR Security Role Mapping (HR SRM) – a multi-round process through which the UW-Madison Office of Human Resources (OHR) and UW-Madison schools, colleges, and divisions work together to assign security roles to UW-Madison employees for future user testing.

Round 1 of UW-Madison HR SRM was completed centrally by OHR during August-October 2024. Round 1 mappings were analyzed to identify necessary changes for Workday roles.

Round 3
Beginning late 2024
Round 3 of UW-Madison HR SRM is expected to begin in late 2024. Round 3 mappings will refine Workday Security incorporating information learned during the User Testing period between July and October 2024.
