Edit Your Time Off Request
Workday allows you to edit or cancel your submitted time off requests.
Before your edit:
- Communicate with your manager of any changes first, as additional approval processes might be needed.
- Ensure your changes align with your unit's time off process and policies.
How to Edit in Workday:

Note when editing your time off request:
- If your time off shows gray in the calendar view: You will need to cancel the original request and then submit a new one.
- If your time off shows green in the calendar view: You can directly edit the existing request or cancel it.
Sick Leave Swapping Related to ICI (University Staff Only)
This section provides information for University Staff regarding sick leave swapping. No action is required from you.
University Staff may have the option to swap used sick leave for other earned leave (like vacation, personal, or floating legal holiday hours) that were taken during the calendar year. An employee may wish to consider a “sick leave swap” if they have unused leave that would expire at the end of the calendar year. This can help with:
