Extend Job Posting Deadline

Overview

Recruiters can extend an application deadline at their discretion. If there is a lack of qualified applicants, additional outreach and sourcing efforts should be made and the Recruitment Efforts Plan should be updated and attached to the job requisition. It is best practice to notify active applicants in the pool when the deadline is extended so that they are aware there may be delays in the hiring process.

If the job is currently posted
Step 1 From the Job Postings tab of the job requisition, use one of the small Actions dropdown fields to select Update Job Posting:

Step 2

From the Update Job Posting screen, change the End Date field:
Screenshot of End Date field within Update Job Posting screen.

The job posting will be removed at 11:59pm the day before the End Date. To accommodate Workday programming, the end date must meet the minimum posting period requirement plus one day. Example: End date listed of 1/20/2025, the posting will be removed on 1/19/2025 at 11:59pm

It is best practice to add a comment describing the change you're making and why before you Submit.

Step 3 Repeat Steps 1 and 2 with the second job posting row. The Posting End Dates must match.

If the job is not currently posted

If the job is not currently posted, follow the steps in the Post the Job section of the Create a Job Requisition KB.
