Frequently Asked Questions
Click on the plus sign (+) to see answers to frequently asked questions about Workday's Learning Management System.Â
 Â
How do I know where to find a course?Â
As migration to Workday continues, employee learning will be found in a number of places: Workday Learning, the OHR Registration System, Canvas, or on websites. Resources such as the UW-Madison Professional Development page, will be updated with links to the correct platform as courses move.Â
How will compliance trainings be assigned?
If you had an active enrollment and/or completion before Workday go-live, the enrollment/completion has been migrated to your learning transcript in Workday. Workday will automatically reassign compliance training to you based on the schedule below.Â
| Course | Retraining Cycle | Time to Complete after Assignment or Reassignment |
|---|---|---|
| Prevent Sexual Harassment at UW-Madison | Every 4 years | 30 days |
| Responsible Employee Training | Every 365 days | 30 days |
| Campus Security Authority Training | Every 365 days | 30 days |
| Cybersecurity Training | Every 365 days | 30 days |
Example: If you last completed Cybersecurity Awareness training on September 1, 2025, Workday will calculate the next due date for you as September 1, 2026. You will be notified to complete the training 30 days ahead of that new due date. Please wait until you receive a notification from Workday to complete the training.Â
How will I be notified about required trainings?
Notifications about your learning enrollments and assignments will appear in Workday under the bell icon in the right corner of the Workday homepage. Review Navigating Notifications for more information on managing your notifications.
For compliance training, you will also receive email notifications and see the learning assignments as "Required for You" on the "My Learning" page.Â
How can I access previous course transcripts?
Most transcript information from the OHR Registration system will not be transferred into Workday. You will still be able to access the OHR Registration system for transcript information not migrated to Workday. Review the Accessing Your Learning Transcript job aid for information on viewing your course transcript in Workday.
Course transcripts for classes taken in Workday Learning starting July 2025 (and migrated completions for the compliance courses listed above) are available in the Workday Learning module. Transcripts for courses taken outside of Workday Learning or before July 2025 are available on the Office of Human Resources (OHR) Professional Development website. Â
How will my historical training completions be updated?Â
Some compliance course completions like Prevent Sexual Harassment and Violence at UW–Madison and Cybersecurity were migrated into Workday Learning. However, your employee transcript from the OHR Registration system or other campus learning were not transferred to Workday Learning, and can be seen directly in the OHR registration system.  Â
