This report provides detailed information about required compliance training assigned to UW employees. On the report you will see details about learning assignments and the completion status of each assigned course.
The report only returns Workday courses categorized as “Mandatory Compliance Training,” which includes the following:
- UWMSN Cybersecurity Awareness Training
- UWMSN Prevent Sexual Harassment and Sexual Violence at UW-Madison
- UWMSN Responsible Employee Training
- UWMSN Campus Security Authority
How to Run and Use the Report

In the Workday search bar, type the name of the report: Mandatory Compliance Training

At the prompt, enter supervisory organization information (starting with campus abbreviation - UWMSN, include department name, leader name, etc.). You can also narrow your search by selecting filters such as course(s) or employee ID number.
- De-select the option to "Return Most Recent Assignment Only" to ensure you are seeing the most complete assignment information.
Note: You can save your report parameters to use when running this report again in the future – by entering a name in the “Filter Name” field and selecting Save.

Click OK.

The report will show all employees who meet your search criteria and have been assigned a course designated as “Mandatory Compliance.” The report shows employee data such as name, supervisory organization, manager and course data such as the course name, assignment date, due date, waive/cancellation information, and completion status. You can filter report results by clicking on a report column header.

Use the buttons in the top right corner of the report results to export the report to another platform such as PDF or Excel, modify the report view in Workday, or visualize in a format such as a bar chart. Note: It is recommended that you download this report to Excel for easier filtering and sorting capabilities.

How To Read the Report
The screenshots below show records for a specific employee for UWMSN Cybersecurity Awareness Training. 
The first record (1) in this report shows the initial training assignment that was added during Workday go-live.

Assignment Mechanism: Campaign

Assignment Status: Completed

Enrollment Completion Date: the pre-Workday completion date that was uploaded at go-live

Record Expiration Date: the date this completion expires and the employee will need to complete again.
The second record (2) in this report shows a completed retraining assignment. For this employee, this is the most recent completion.

Assignment Status: Completed

Enrollment Completion Date: the date the employee completed the retraining in Workday

Record Expiration Date: the date this completion expires and the employee will need to complete again.
The third record (3) in this report shows an open retraining assignment. This is the assignment that will trigger 30 days prior to the employee’s expiration date. The employee will receive notifications, and Workday will automatically assign at this time. There is no additional action needed for a Learning Partner or Manager to assign or enroll the employee.
