New Employee Orientation (NEO)

A welcoming, big‑picture introduction to UW–Madison.

This session gives new employees a sense of place, purpose, and connection. Step into the broader story of the university, and learn about the many resources available to you as an employee, as we explore:

  • Campus landscape — the wide range of work happening across our schools, colleges, and divisions
  • History and traditions — the moments and milestones that shaped UW–Madison
  • Our role in the Universities of Wisconsin — where we fit in the statewide system
  • Academics, research, and impact — how the work done here reaches Wisconsin and the world

You’ll leave with:

  • A clearer sense of the world‑class institution you’re now part of
  • An introduction to key tools, resources, and support networks available to employees
  • Pathways to get involved, grow your career, and find your community at UW-Madison

NEO gives you the story, context, and connections that help you feel grounded and inspired as you begin your UW–Madison journey.
