Searching for Professional Development Courses in Workday

Workday Learning is the home for both required employee training and professional development courses for employees. This includes access to the LinkedIn Learning catalog of thousands of interactive, video-based courses. 

Non-required courses for employees can be found in the Workday Learning catalog.

Here are some additional tips for searching the Workday Learning catalog.

There are thousands of LinkedIn Learning courses available in the catalog, but if you are looking for UW-specific courses only, you can filter for “internal” courses.

Additionally, you can narrow your search by using the search feature in the catalog. For example:

• If you are looking for UW-Madison courses, start by entering UWMSN in the search bar. 

• If you know you are looking for UW-Madison courses that address a specific topic area, you can include that in your search as well. For example, “UWMSN project management”

Finding Upcoming Offerings

There is no easy way to see upcoming instructor-led live sessions in the Workday catalog. You can run the Learning - Upcoming Course Offerings (UW) report to see upcoming offerings (both virtual and in person classroom sessions) to which you can enroll. 

1. In the Workday search bar, type “Learning upcoming offerings” to find the report.

2. The report will show you upcoming offerings in which you are to enroll, in date order from oldest to newest. 

3. You can filter and sort this report using the column headings (course name, start date, instructor name, etc.)

4. You can click the name of the course to go to that course page to enroll.
