New and Improved: Jobs at UW Website

The Jobs at UW website has been revamped, making it easier for job seekers to identify and apply for the jobs at UW‒Madison that interest them. The website now provides new ways to filter and search for job listings, while maintaining key features that are familiar to job applicants.

    1. Search results and job listings to browse are provided in a grid view for ease of use and accessibility.
    2. Listings for each job show title, employment category, job group, department, employment type, location, and job open and close date.
    3. Website users with accounts are able to add “favorites,” similar to the electronic retail shopping cart.

The account history for applicants with jobs.wisc.edu accounts has been transferred to the revamped website.

The Talent Acquisition Team in the Office of Human Resources revamped the website on May 2, 2023, and has started gathering useful data on behaviors of visitors within a 1,000-mile radius of campus. Here are some early highlights from the first two weeks:

    • Jobs.wisc.edu had over 34,100 visits.
      • Of those, 25.6% were returning visitors.
      • 3% of these visitors completed one or more applications.
    • Website visitors performed over 98,000 keyword searches.
      • Between 5,000 and 8,000 keyword searches were conducted each weekday.
      • The top five keyword searches included: Research, Remote, Athletics, Education, Custodian, and Data.
    • The most popular times of day for traffic to jobs.wisc.edu is between 7am and 3pm, with the highest number of job views and started applications occurring on Wednesdays at 8am.
    • The top sources for traffic on jobs.wisc.edu included: Direct, Google, Wisc.edu, LinkedIn, and Facebook.
    • Among the top sources, LinkedIn had the highest rates of both started and completed applications.
    • Visitors have referred 80 jobs to their friends or family.

The Talent Acquisition Team will continue to track this useful data to drive future enhancements.
