Happy Birthday, TREMS!

On October 10, the Talent Recruitment and Engagement Management System (TREMS) turned three years old.

Happy Birthday, TREMS!In that time:

  • 8,541 Jobs Posted
  • 230,048 Applications Submitted
  • 7,891 Offers Accepted
  • 93.5% Applicant Satisfaction Rating

The Talent Recruitment and Engagement (TRE) team makes all this possible.  Meet the team:

TRE Team
Back row (L to R): Kaylie Anderson, Christine Ray, Caitlin Riechers, Adin Palau, Erica Fini-Martin.
Front Row (L to R): Lauren Bowers, Rachel Simonson, Marci Birkes-Geffert.

Kaylie Anderson, HR Assistant Advanced, is the main point of contact for applicants and job seekers for questions related to the Jobs at UW website and application process. She also supports the TRE team in daily tasks and long term process improvements. Outside of work, Kaylie enjoys spending time with her husband and toddler on their growing “farmette” with 10 chickens, 3 goats, 3 cats and 2 dogs.

Marci Birkes-Geffert, HR Assistant Advanced, assists Christine in supporting campus partners with onboarding and performance management programming, and helps to welcome new employees at the monthly New Employee Orientation events. Marci lives in southwest Madison with her husband, their dog Timber, and Twig the gecko. When not at work she enjoys anything outdoors, traveling and weekend road trips.

Lauren Bowers, Interim Director, supports TRE team initiatives to advance and champion recruiting, onboarding, performance management and engagement, inclusion and diversity efforts on campus. Lauren has been a part of the UW–Madison HR community for over 12 years and is passionate about helping others succeed. Lauren and her husband, Paul, have a busy little toddler, Luke, and a fluffy rescue dog, Nutter Butter.

Susan Degrand (she, her, hers) currently serves as the Employee Engagement, Inclusion & Diversity (EID) coordinator for UW-Madison. Susan provides leadership and strategic vision for EID practices for campus and particularly campus divisions within the Vice Chancellor for Finance & Administration (VCFA). She also serves as a consultant for employees and divisions on employee and organization EID strategies, programs and resources.

Erica Fini-Marten, Recruitment Specialist, provides consultation on all things recruitment for campus divisions and business partners in OHR Collaboration Team B. She serves as one of the super users for the campus applicant tracking system, TREMS. Erica also maintains the Jobs at UW (Jobs@UW) social media accounts. Erica and her husband, Adam, have two fur-children, Gianna (an 11-year old Olde English Bulldogge) and Ember (a 6-year-old Golden Retriever). She loves to #WorkWithBucky!

Adin Palau, Talent Outreach, consults with campus on topics related to talent outreach strategies, recruitment sourcing, and diversity recruitment.  He oversees the relationship with the vendors from the advertisement industry.  Adin is also responsible for managing the Recruitment Initiative for Student Employees (RISE).  He is an avid chess player and enjoys spending time with family and friends.

Christine Ray, Onboarding and Performance Management Specialist, consults with campus partners to implement, enhance, and maintain onboarding and performance management practices and programs. About every three weeks you will find her welcoming new employees to campus at NEO (New Employee Orientation). Christine makes the trek into campus from the “Only Waunakee in the World,” where she lives with her husband, Wes, their 13-year-old daughter, Sydney, and their two Bichon Frise pups, Sophie and Tucker. She enjoys dancing with the Cripple Creek Cloggers, Jimmy Buffett music, concerts and Parrothead shenanigans—and hopes to one day learn to play steel drums.

Caitlin Riechers, Recruitment Specialist, provides recruitment expertise to campus divisions and business partners in OHR Collaboration Team A and enjoys helping HR personnel to navigate and troubleshoot campus’ many HR systems.  Caitlin loves exploring Madison with her husband Dave and their Yorkie Bichon, Buddy.

Rachel Simonson, Recruitment Specialist, provides recruitment and TREMS expertise to campus divisions and business partners in OHR Collaboration Team D.  Rachel has been in human resources on campus for over nine years and enjoys building relationships with the HR community.  Outside of work, Rachel loves spending time with her French Bulldog, Blueberry.

Brian Zimmermann, Application Developer, supports the TRE team as a technical resource.  Brian tries his best to keep the different HR systems used by TRE, operational and up-to-date based on their frequently (i.e., always, non-stop, ever-changing) needs.  Brian has been with UW–Madison for longer than he cares to admit.  When he is not racing his two children (Carlee 15 and Bryce 13) to every sporting practice and event on the planet, he enjoys watching sports that his kids are not playing in; participating in his own sporting activities—especially volleyball; and relaxing with his four-month-old English bulldog, Marshmallow.

TRE’s newest team member, Susannah Rockman-Lee, will coordinate the job rotation program. More information on Susannah and the rotation program to come!
