Job Summary:
Develops and directs the implementation of strategic student outreach, academic support, and engagement initiatives to support student access and success, promote diversity and equity, and foster a supportive, inclusive environment. Oversees staff and the unit budget.

Job Responsibilities:
- Serves as the unit liaison by collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to advocate for access, inclusion, and student success within the university
- Develops diversity outreach and engagement programs to contribute to the enrichment of the university community
- Directs the development of long-range and short term strategic plans and initiatives and aligns unit objectives to ensure the appropriate use of financial, administrative, and staffing resources and adherence to regulations and institutional policies
- Exercises supervisory authority, including hiring, transferring, suspending, promoting, managing conduct and performance, discharging, assigning, rewarding, disciplining, and/or approving hours worked of at least 2.0 full-time equivalent (FTE) employees
- Evaluates and implements best practices in recruitment, retention, and engagement of marginalized, underrepresented, and targeted minority student populations, leveraging data, assessment, and technology to drive outcomes
- Leads the planning and execution of advising, academic events, and programs
