Job Summary:
Assists with the overall operations and administration of a clinical/diagnostic laboratory including the employment of personnel. Records and reports test results promptly, accurately, and proficiently and ensures compliance with applicable regulations.

Job Responsibilities:
- Helps evaluate programs and policies in the laboratory to identify improvements and efficiencies to ensure a high level of service
- Assists with planning staff implementation of protocols and on-going quality review of laboratory services
- Exercises supervisory authority, including hiring, transferring, suspending, promoting, managing conduct and performance, discharging, assigning, rewarding, disciplining, and/or approving hours worked of at least 2.0 full-time equivalent (FTE) employees
- May assist with developing and monitoring the laboratory budget and reviewing and approving expenditures
- Analyzes portfolios and accounts, solicits internal and external opportunities, promotes unit capabilities, and makes recommendations to leadership for strategic enhancements
- Compiles, audits, and documents data to ensure necessary compliance with institutional policies and procedures
- Implements and evaluates teaching, training, and outreach activities
