Job Summary:
Provides administrative direction and strategic oversight to all intercollegiate and recreational sports, athletic facilities, and core activities, ensuring that all programs fully comply with institutional, conference, and National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) rules and regulations. Exercises final approval of all internal budgetary, financial, operational and Human Resources-related requests.

Job Responsibilities:
- Formulates and implements athletics policies including strategic planning, fundraising, and financial oversight of the overall unit budget
- Serves as the primary liaison to the academic community to ensure alignment with the mission and strategic goals of the university
- Increases public awareness and support for intercollegiate athletic programs and student-athletes
- Develops strong relationships with alumni to create lifelong ties with the Athletic Department and the university
- Works with student-athletes, coaches, parents, faculty, and leadership to resolve highly sensitive and difficult issues
- Represents the university at NCAA and conference meetings
- Exercises supervisory authority, including hiring, transferring, suspending, promoting, managing conduct and performance, discharging, assigning, rewarding, disciplining, and/or approving hours worked of at least 2.0 full-time equivalent (FTE) employees
- Ensures gender equity, diversity, and inclusion in all athletic programs and teams are in compliance with NCAA, conference, and university policies that govern them
