Job Summary:
Develops spirit team members, may supervise staff, and directs scheduling and logistics for spirit team tryouts, practices, and appearances to ensure team member safety, eligibility, and compliance while generating team spirit and enthusiasm for patrons at athletic and community events.

Job Responsibilities:
- Directs team practices, game activities, and performances and safety processes to ensure alignment with unit objectives an the safety of participants
- Schedules logistics and secures resources for unit travel to away sport events and performances
- Develops and schedules the day-to-day work plans of spirit staff, team practices, performances, events, and activities
- Serves as a unit liaison to medical, academic staff, and support services to ensure adequate resource availability to team members and communicates resource options
- May exercise supervisory authority, including hiring, transferring, suspending, promoting, managing conduct and performance, discharging, assigning, rewarding, disciplining, and/or approving hours worked of at least 2.0 FTE or equivalent employees
- Ensures compliance with university and NCAA rules and regulations including monitoring academic progress and eligibility
- Recruits and retains student athletes
