Job Summary:
Directs institutional communications strategic planning and execution. Provides approval and guidance for communications, including staffing and budgetary planning, in support of institutional communication goals.

Job Responsibilities:
- Develops, implements, and monitors strategic communication initiatives to designated audiences and internal stakeholders within multiple work units or cross-institutional programs to maximize engagement and to strengthen collaboration efforts
- Identifies, establishes, and directs media relationships and partnerships with internal and external sources
- Identifies, proposes, and implements new or revived unit operational policies and procedures
- Audits and directs day-to-day operational unit plans to align with strategic initiatives and to meet established objectives
- Serves as a point of contact and unit liaison to internal and external stakeholder groups providing organizational information and representing the interests of the unit
- Exercises supervisory authority, including hiring, transferring, suspending, promoting, managing conduct and performance, discharging, assigning, rewarding, disciplining, and/or approving hours worked of at least 2.0 full-time equivalent (FTE) employees
