  • Job Summary:
    Provides leadership to the department. Directs all police functions, operations, and strategy to ensure safety and security on all institutional properties. Acts as the primary liaison between the unit and internal and external stakeholders.
  • Job Responsibilities:
    • Provides strategic direction and oversight of all police operations, personnel, and establishes unit objectives
    • Serves as an institutional safety liaison and builds partnerships among internal and external stakeholder groups providing organizational information, representing community interests, and championing diversity
    • Collaborates with other multidisciplinary entities to provide education and address trends in crime, abuse, violence, and threat management
    • Advises the Board of Regents and institutional leadership on public safety efforts and unit performance towards goals and objectives
    • Sets budgetary objectives and priorities
    • Exercises supervisory authority, including hiring, transferring, suspending, promoting, managing conduct and performance, discharging, assigning, rewarding, disciplining, and/or approving hours worked of at least 2.0 full-time equivalent (FTE) employees
