  • Job Summary:
    Manages shipping and mail services for a unit including inventory management and distribution, mail and package receipt and delivery, and shipping and/or delivery of packages. Supervises staff performing related duties.
  • Job Responsibilities:
    • Oversees staff responsible for inventory management and distribution, mail and package receipt and delivery, and shipping and/or delivery of packages
    • Exercises supervisory authority, including hiring, transferring, suspending, promoting, managing conduct and performance, discharging, assigning, rewarding, disciplining, and/or approving hours worked of at least 2.0 full-time equivalent (FTE) employees
    • Maintains records and manifests regarding incoming packages, location, and date of delivery
    • Ensures that staff is trained in safety and security procedures
    • Determines policies and procedures related to accurate mail and package receipt and delivery and will publish these for training all staff
    • Supervises postal inspections and monitors the postal levels on the unit's postage meter for use in budget projections
