Job Summary:
Develops pharmacy strategic plan and budget, establishes operational standards and protocols for pharmacy services, and supervises staff to ensure proper pharmacy functionality, support patient treatment, and ensure regulatory compliance.

Job Responsibilities:
- Directs strategic planning initiatives and establishes unit objectives to ensure appropriate use of financial, administrative, and staffing resources and alignment with the strategic plan
- Develops and implements operating policies and procedures to comply with regulations, institutional policies, and unit objectives
- Directs the computerized billing for pharmacy and budgeting and assists in designing and updating computerized record keeping and billing systems
- Manages pharmaceutical inventory and assesses needs, develops bid list, and recommends manufacturers and suppliers to implement a cost-effective pharmaceutical program
- Reviews changes in legislation pertaining to program issues and implements changes in pharmacy services as required
- Serves as a subject matter expert to internal and external stakeholders and leadership providing information and representing the interests of the unit
- Exercises supervisory authority, including hiring, transferring, suspending, promoting, managing conduct and performance, discharging, assigning, rewarding, disciplining, and/or approving hours worked of at least 2.0 full-time equivalent (FTE) employees
- Dispenses medications, educates patients, and acts as a resource for prescribers
- Develops and monitors budget
