Job Summary:
Provides strategic oversight in complete diagnostic laboratory services in the areas of microbiology, serology, virology, pathology, client services, and administration for submitting veterinarians and appropriate federal and state agencies.

Job Responsibilities:
- Provides operational oversight across all laboratory disciplines
- Provides operational and strategic oversight of the complete laboratory services provided to the Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP), Division of Population Health (DPH), Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), and the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA)
- Leads regulatory and clinical veterinary services and pertinent public health diagnostic testing. Acts in collaboration with relevant federal, state, and local animal and public health agencies in accordance with all relevant statutes
- Oversees the implementation of quality assurance in compliance with AAVLD (American Association of Veterinary Laboratory Diagnosticians) accreditation
- Develops and audits the unit budget and compliance reports in accordance with established rules and regulations. Provides fiscal oversight
- Exercises supervisory authority, including hiring, transferring, suspending, promoting, managing conduct and performance, discharging, assigning, rewarding, disciplining, and/or approving hours worked of at least 2.0 full-time equivalent (FTE) employees
