Job Summary:
Directs the workflow of the cytogenetic and molecular laboratory, reviews clinical case material and results for quality and accuracy, and provides appropriate interpretation for cases reviewed to be used as a part of the final patient report. Ensures the correct procedures and techniques for all molecular testing are followed and coaches others in these techniques.

Job Responsibilities:
- Directs the clinical and research workflows of the cytogenetic and molecular laboratory
- Exercises supervisory authority, including hiring, transferring, suspending, promoting, managing conduct and performance, discharging, assigning, rewarding, disciplining, and/or approving hours worked of at least 2.0 full-time equivalent (FTE) employees
- Provides appropriate interpretation, directs workflow, and reviews clinical case materials and results prepared by technologists for inclusion into final patient reports and to ensure quality and accuracy
- Assists with the development and validation of new procedures
- Follows standard operating procedures and laboratory policies and ensures quality and regulatory requirements are met
- Participates in general laboratory maintenance activities
