Job Summary:
Identifies, analyzes, designs, and implements systems, programs, and modules for the improvement, enhancement, and on-going maintenance of an institution's Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). Facilitates and implements transmission of electronic data to and from instrumentation and the LIMS. Identifies, reviews, develops, and performs new analytical methodologies and sample preparation techniques and performs high complexity analytical testing. Serves as a subject matter technical expert for both analytical methods and for LIMS administration.

Job Responsibilities:
- Maintains and improves current functioning of the LIMS and the associated instrument interfaces
- Analyzes LIMS system needs and troubleshoots system problems, identifying and implementing appropriate technical solutions
- Designs and builds new tests and procedures in the LIMS according to departmental and organizational needs including necessary customer reporting and any associated instrument interfacing
- Designs and implements testing plans for system updates, upgrades, and any new processes or functions of the LIMS and instrument interfaces
- Serves as subject matter expert to internal stakeholders regarding LIMS resources and analytical testing and trains staff. Serves as a primary point of contact to the LIMS provider
- Serves as the liaison between the laboratory's analytical staff and the IT staff. Engages in the development, evaluation, and implementation of new chemical testing methodologies, including techniques for chemical research experiments and other high complexity testing
- Utilizes, maintains, and troubleshoots laboratory instrumentation, including non-routine instrument maintenance and repairs
