Job Summary:
Performs, manages, or leads activities to ensure that a clinical research program is delivered effectively, efficiently, and securely. Serves as a senior advisor to the center's department administrator and assists in the planning, organization, direction, evaluation, and improvement of clinical research programs and initiatives. Provides leadership for the management team and manages the administration of the center's clinical and research programs.

Job Responsibilities:
- Assists in the development of strategic and short-term planning processes and facilitates the obtainment and validation of data needed for strategic decision-making
- Provides leadership, guidance, and management of the department's clinical and research programs and staff to ensure efficient and effective operations
- Provides leadership and administrative oversight in the areas of staffing, compliance, fiscal, IT, and facility needs
- Exercises supervisory authority, including hiring, transferring, suspending, promoting, managing conduct and performance, discharging, assigning, rewarding, disciplining, and/or approving hours worked of at least 2.0 full-time equivalent (FTE) employees
- Provides leadership and oversight in financial operations including developing and administering budgets and oversight of grants management, contracts, and other funds to ensure adherence to accounting practices and compliance with sponsor rules, regulations, and laws
