Job Summary:
Identifies, reviews, and develops new analytical methods and sample preparation techniques. Performs routine, non-routine, and complex testing, manages and improves testing services, and reports results for toxicological, biological, and chemical parameters on living organisms and environmental matrices. Serves as a subject matter technical expert.

Job Responsibilities:
- Engages in the development, evaluation and implementation of new methods and techniques
- Conducts non-routine and complex analyses associated with environmental monitoring, safety, accreditation, regulatory enforcement or research
- Develops and employs quality control and quality assurance practices
- Utilizes, maintains, and troubleshoots laboratory cultures, instrumentation and information management systems to meet unit objectives in alignment with strategic initiatives
- Interprets results, applies appropriate statistical methods and prepares technical reports
- Establishes and maintains partnerships with internal and external stakeholders and communicates analytical and research updates
- Presents scientific findings to stakeholders through various media and participates in educational and outreach activities
- Supports and/or trains new employees, students, and other professional colleagues
