Job Summary:
Manages one or more units or services through the supervision of personnel, participates in long-term strategic planning, and solves complex issues, which impact other units or services. Collaborates with senior leadership to implement the strategic vision and goals.

Job Responsibilities:
- Exercises supervisory authority, including hiring, transferring, suspending, promoting, managing conduct and performance, discharging, assigning, rewarding, disciplining, and/or approving hours worked of at least 2.0 full-time equivalent (FTE) employees
- Communicates senior leadership's strategic vision and directs plans for establishing and achieving departmental goals
- Develops and oversees implementation of policies, procedures, standards, and goals to meet the current and long-range needs of units or departments
- Resolves complex issues which may impact policies and procedures in multiple units
- Collaborates with other leadership to develop and implement initiatives and technological enterprises which directly affect the libraries or archives
- Manages complex budgets and space in collaboration with senior leadership
- Advances librarianship or archives at the campus, local, state, and national level through committee participation
