Job Summary:
Assists library senior leadership with overseeing a portfolio which may contain one or more libraries or units. Participates in the strategic planning and implementation of policies, procedures, and major initiatives. Implements decisions which have a long-term and measurable impact on operations and helps solve problems which are complex, strategic, and multi-faceted.

Job Responsibilities:
- Implements the vision and direction for collections, services, technology, operations, and space management
- Assists in strategic planning and the establishment of long-range research and instructional goals
- Assists with the development and implementation of major initiatives and organizational change efforts. Manages and prioritizes goals which fulfill the mission of the library
- Exercises supervisory authority, including hiring, transferring, suspending, promoting, managing conduct and performance, discharging, assigning, rewarding, disciplining, and/or approving hours worked of at least 2.0 full-time equivalent (FTE) employees
- Assists with the development and management of complex budgets and the allocation of resources
- Maintains relationships with school and campus leadership, donors, collectors, and professional colleagues
- Ensures compliance with accreditation standards and reporting obligations
- May represent library interests on committees and events relevant to the strategic direction of the library
