Job Summary:
Provides innovative leadership and strategic direction to support and advance the state's geospatial community. Promotes strategic partnerships, provides executive oversight, and directs strategic planning for the unit. Directs the activities of the unit in accordance with strategic objectives and statutory responsibilities. Allocates resources, secures funding, and supervises staff to make program activities effective.

Job Responsibilities:
- Provides innovative leadership and strategic direction to the state's geospatial community in collaboration with other geospatial leaders, organizations, and agencies
- Directs the development and delivery of outreach and educational programs, data dissemination efforts, and research initiatives to support and advance the state's geospatial community
- Serves as the primary liaison for the unit among internal and external stakeholder groups providing organizational information and representing the interests of the unit
- Secures external funding to support the growth and execution of programs
- Develops and delivers effective presentations, publications, and marketing materials
- Develops and audits the unit budget
- Exercises supervisory authority, including hiring, transferring, suspending, promoting, managing conduct and performance, discharging, assigning, rewarding, disciplining, and/or approving hours worked of at least 2.0 full-time equivalent (FTE) employees
