Job Summary:
Manages operations and/or personnel related to one or more areas of sponsored programs, research, or contracts administration from proposal preparation through closeout. Oversees a functional area on behalf of the institution.

Job Responsibilities:
- Implements research administration operational policies and procedures including financial, administrative, staffing, and compliance
- May review and approve programmatic transactions spanning the life-cycle of sponsored projects to ensure compliance with policies and procedures
- Exercises supervisory authority, including hiring, transferring, suspending, promoting, managing conduct and performance, discharging, assigning, rewarding, disciplining, and/or approving hours worked of at least 2.0 full-time equivalent (FTE) employees
- Serves as a key resource to leadership and staff in the unit as well as a liaison to partners and stakeholders
- Executes activities related to proposal submission, contract negotiation, and/or award setup on behalf of a unit
- Executes activities related to financial compliance, audit, or reporting on behalf of a unit
- Provides training and guidance to campus partners regarding policies, activities, procedures, or systems necessary for sponsored projects management
