Job Summary:
Provides coaching to speech and debate team in preparation for local, regional, and national competitions. Reviews text of proposed speeches and make suggestions for improvement and reviews delivery techniques. Provides administrative and organizational oversight relating to the team, travel, and tournaments.

Job Responsibilities:
- Travels with the debate team to tournaments assuring adherence to university policy and best practices
- Provides coaching, assistance, and mentoring to the team
- Assists the team's research including planning assignments, editing files, and producing evidence for the students
- Assists in determining debate team argument selection and research prioritization
- Develops and implements coaching instruction for tournaments and other training formats
- Travels to high school tournaments to scout and meet with potential recruits, parents, and coaches
