  • Job Summary:
    Directs and oversees the advising of students and recent graduates on institution-wide awards and national scholarship opportunities. Works collaboratively across the institution to coordinate services and ensure delivery of high impact advising for students seeking awards and scholarships for research, service, and leadership. Administers institution-wide awards and scholarships and directs the selection and preparation of national scholarship nominees.
  • Job Responsibilities:
    • Plans and directs staff implementation of unit objectives to ensure appropriate use of financial, administrative, and staffing resources, and alignment with the strategic plan
    • May develop and audit the unit budget
    • Identifies, proposes, and implements new or revised operational policies and procedures for scholarship and award administration
    • Evaluates and implements best practices in scholarship advising
    • Directs professional staff on unit programming and initiatives
    • Works with advisors, faculty, student affairs personnel, and alumni to identify and prepare students for award and scholarship competition opportunities
    • Serves as the institutional liaison to internal and external stakeholder groups to provide information on institutional and external awards and scholarship opportunities
    • Identifies, promotes, and maintains external partnerships to national scholarship foundations and the National Association of Fellowship Advisors
    • May exercise supervisory authority, including hiring, transferring, suspending, promoting, managing conduct and performance, discharging, assigning, rewarding, disciplining, and/or approving hours worked of at least 2.0 FTE or equivalent employees
