Job Summary:
Provides general leadership to student life. Assists in defining, interpreting and implementing goals and objectives for the dean of students office.

Job Responsibilities:
- Assists in the development and implementation of operating policies and procedures to comply with regulations, institutional policies, and division objectives
- Assists in advising institutional and divisional leadership on policy and procedures
- Serves as the unit liaison among internal and external stakeholder groups and representing the interests of the division, in the absence of the Dean and/or Associate Dean
- Assists in the evaluation of unit program and service effectiveness and provides recommendations for improvement
- Serves as a resource to the campus community regarding student issues and resolutions
- Participates in crisis intervention, conflict resolution, and ombuds services
- May exercise supervisory authority, including hiring, transferring, suspending, promoting, managing conduct and performance, discharging, assigning, rewarding, disciplining, and/or approving hours worked of at least 2.0 full-time equivalent (FTE) employees
