Job Summary:
Provides legal representation, advises, and counsels the institutional community to prevent or minimize impact of legal risks involving the institution.

Job Responsibilities:
- Completes legal research, fact-gathering and analysis, and provides legal, ethical, and policy advice on one or many complex and novel higher education legal areas including regulatory compliance, employment law, medical malpractice, and risk management
- Assists in the investigation and preparation for litigation matters in cooperation with other legal entities
- Disseminates oral and written legal advice to university administrators, faculty, and staff regarding university business matters
- Provides legal representation for the university and it's employees in various university business matters before federal and state administrative agencies
- Assists in the preparation and delivery of trainings for institutional employees to provide general advice, education, and counseling regarding higher education legal issues
- Negotiates various university business related agreements
