  • Job Summary:
    Provides legal representation, advises, and counsels the institutional community on more complex legal matters and projects to prevent or minimize impact of legal risks involving the institution. May be responsible for a specific legal area and/or provide work guidance to less experienced attorneys.
  • Job Responsibilities:
    • Completes legal research, fact-gathering and analysis, and provides legal, ethical, and policy advice on one or many complex and novel higher education legal areas. May include an area of specialty
    • Investigates and prepares materials for litigation matters in cooperation with other legal entities
    • Disseminates oral and written legal advice to university administrators, faculty, and staff regarding university business matters
    • Provides legal representation for the university and its employees in various university business matters before federal and state administrative agencies
    • Creates, prepares, and delivers trainings for institutional employees to provide general advice, education, and counseling regarding higher education legal issues
    • Negotiates various university business related agreements
