Job Summary:
Serves under the general oversight of the General Counsel and acts in the General Counsel's absence, fulfilling the responsibilities of the Office of General Counsel. May oversee other programs separate from the administration of the Office of General Counsel.

Job Responsibilities:
- Represents and directs representation of the university in civil litigation and all other legal matters, and provides legal advice and opinions in all substantive areas of law affecting the university
- Serves as a resource on all legal matters and issues of institutional governance
- Acts as legal advisor to university leadership
- Assists with all aspects of the Office of General Counsel operations including budget development
- Exercises supervisory authority, including hiring, transferring, suspending, promoting, managing conduct and performance, discharging, assigning, rewarding, disciplining, and/or approving hours worked of at least 2.0 full-time equivalent (FTE) employees
